Is Apple One Worth It? 2026 Prices vs Buying Separately
Apple One starts at $21.95/mo in the US. Compare Individual, Family and Premier with each service's own price and see which combinations save money.

In this article
Apple One is worth it if you'd use at least Apple Music and Apple TV: those two alone cost $26.98/month separately, versus $21.95 for Apple One Individual, which also adds Apple Arcade and 50 GB of iCloud+. If you only want music and storage, buying them separately is cheaper. Below are the three US plans, the full math and the combinations where the bundle actually saves you money.
How much is Apple One in 2026?
US prices, checked in October 2026 in Subfaro's price catalog, with the services listed on Apple's Apple One page:
| Plan | Price | What's included | Sharing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | $21.95/mo | Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Arcade, iCloud+ 50 GB | Apple TV and Arcade with family; Apple Music just for you |
| Family | $27.95/mo | the same four, with iCloud+ 200 GB | up to five other people |
| Premier | $39.95/mo | the four + Apple Fitness+ and Apple News+, with iCloud+ 2 TB | up to five other people |
Apple TV is Apple's streaming service for shows and movies, formerly called Apple TV+. Plans and price history are on Apple One in Subfaro.
Outside the US, Apple notes that availability and features vary by country. In Brazil, for example, the top tier is called Premium and includes Fitness+ but not News+.
How much would everything cost separately?
This is the math Apple uses to advertise its savings, with each service's standalone monthly price:
| Service | Individual | Family | Premier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Music | $11.99 | $19.99 (Family) | $19.99 (Family) |
| Apple TV | $14.99 | $14.99 | $14.99 |
| Apple Arcade | $6.99 | $6.99 | $6.99 |
| iCloud+ | $0.99 (50 GB) | $2.99 (200 GB) | $9.99 (2 TB) |
| Apple Fitness+ | — | — | $9.99 |
| Apple News+ | — | — | $12.99 |
| Total separately | $34.96 | $44.96 | $74.94 |
| Apple One | $21.95 | $27.95 | $39.95 |
| Savings | $13.01 (37%) | $17.01 (38%) | $34.99 (47%) |
The Fitness+ and News+ prices come from Apple's Apple One page; the rest are from Subfaro's catalog.
The catch is that this math assumes you'd pay for every service. Not everyone uses all of them. The right question is: what would you subscribe to anyway?
Which combinations make Apple One worth it?
Compare the bundle with what you'd really use:
| What you'd use | Separately | Apple One | Winner |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Music + Apple TV | $26.98 | $21.95 (Individual) | Apple One, by $5.03 |
| Apple TV + Arcade + iCloud 50 GB | $22.97 | $21.95 (Individual) | Apple One, by $1.02 |
| Apple Music + Arcade + iCloud 50 GB | $19.97 | $21.95 (Individual) | Separately, by $1.98 |
| Apple Music + iCloud 50 GB | $12.98 | $21.95 (Individual) | Separately, by $8.97 |
| Apple Music Family + Apple TV | $34.98 | $27.95 (Family) | Apple One, by $7.03 |
| Apple Music Family + iCloud 200 GB | $22.98 | $27.95 (Family) | Separately, by $4.97 |
| Apple Music Family + iCloud 2 TB | $29.98 | $39.95 (Premier) | Separately, by $9.97 |
The rule of thumb: if Apple TV is on your list along with Apple Music, the bundle pays off. Without Apple TV, the math gets tight and depends on how many other Apple services you'd use.
Is Premier worth it over Family?
Premier is the easiest plan to overbuy. Say you already pay for iCloud+ 2 TB ($9.99) and don't care about Fitness+ or News+. Apple keeps billing a bigger existing iCloud+ plan separately and combines the storage, so Apple One Family ($27.95) plus your 2 TB plan comes to $37.94, with 2.2 TB in total. That's $2.01 a month less than Premier. Premier wins once you'd actually use Fitness+ or News+.
Individual or Family: when to upgrade
Family costs $6 more than Individual ($27.95 vs $21.95). For that, everyone in your Family Sharing group gets Apple Music, and storage goes from 50 GB to 200 GB. Two situations decide it:
- A second person wants Apple Music: Individual plus a separate Apple Music Individual plan would cost $33.94, so Family wins by $5.99 and covers up to five other people.
- Only you use Apple Music, but you need more storage: keeping a separate iCloud+ 200 GB plan ($2.99) alongside Individual comes to $24.94, $3.01 less than Family, and the storage is combined (250 GB).
When Apple One isn't worth it
Some profiles just don't add up:
- College students: Apple Music Student costs $6.99/mo and, according to the Apple Music page, comes with access to Apple TV at no extra cost. That's music and Apple TV for about a third of Apple One Individual.
- Spotify listeners: without Apple Music, the bundle's main piece goes unused. Still, if you want Apple TV, Arcade and 50 GB of iCloud, Individual is $1.02 cheaper than the three separately.
- People who only need storage: iCloud+ alone does the job, and another service may be cheaper per terabyte. See iCloud vs Google One vs OneDrive.
- Streaming rotators: if you only pay for Apple TV in months with a show you want, a monthly bundle takes that flexibility away. Here's how streaming rotation works.
What happens to the subscriptions you already have?
Apple Support's Apple One article spells out the rules:
- existing subscriptions to services included in your plan are canceled automatically when you're billed for Apple One, and you get a prorated refund;
- iCloud+ is the exception: if your current plan has more storage than the bundle, it keeps being billed separately and the storage is combined;
- on Family and Premier, you share everything with up to five other family members through Family Sharing.
Apple's services keep getting more expensive
Standalone prices have climbed, which makes the bundle's savings look bigger on paper. From Subfaro's price history:
- Apple TV: from $6.99 in 2022 to $14.99 since August 2026, more than double. The latest step was $12.99 to $14.99. See Apple TV price increases.
- Apple Music: in July 2026, Individual went from $10.99 to $11.99, Family from $16.99 to $19.99 and Student from $5.99 to $6.99. Details on Apple Music price increases.
- iCloud+: US prices haven't changed in years: 50 GB and 200 GB have cost the same since 2015, and 2 TB since 2017.
Redo the math whenever Apple announces new prices: the bundle is worth it as long as the services you use cost more, added up, than the plan. If you're still choosing between Apple Music and another music app, the music streaming comparison lays out prices and differences.
How Subfaro helps
Subfaro is a subscription tracker. Add Apple One or each standalone service, choose the plan and the price fills in. Subfaro checks the prices of more than 100 services every week and alerts you when one changes, which is the right moment to redo this math.
The free plan tracks up to 10 subscriptions with no time limit, reminds you before each charge and shows a calendar of upcoming charges. Create your free account.
FAQ
How much is Apple One in 2026?
In the US, Apple One Individual is $21.95/mo, Family $27.95/mo and Premier $39.95/mo. Prices checked in October 2026.
Can I share Apple One Individual with my family?
Partly. Apple TV and Apple Arcade include Family Sharing even on Individual, but Apple Music on that plan can't be shared. To share everything with up to five other people, you need Family or Premier.
If I already pay for Apple Music, will I be charged twice when I join Apple One?
No. Apple says existing subscriptions to services in your Apple One plan are canceled automatically when you're billed for Apple One, with a prorated refund. iCloud+ is the exception: if your current plan is bigger than the bundle's, it stays billed separately and the storage is combined.
Is Apple One Premier worth it?
Mostly if you'd use Apple Fitness+ or Apple News+. If you already have an iCloud+ 2 TB plan, Apple One Family plus that separate plan costs $37.94/mo, less than Premier's $39.95, and Apple combines the storage.
