If you need a lot of space, Google AI Pro is the cheapest per terabyte in the US: 5 TB for $19.99/month, about $4 per TB, but it only makes sense if you'd also use Gemini. For plain storage, iCloud+ 2 TB at $9.99/month ($5 per TB) is hard to beat, and Microsoft 365 is the pick when you also want Word, Excel and the rest of Office. Below is the full price table, what each plan includes and which one fits you.

How much does each cloud storage plan cost in 2026?

US prices, checked in October 2026 in Subfaro's price catalog. The last column shows the cost of each terabyte per month, so you can compare plans of different sizes:

iCloud+ 6 TB6 TB$29.99/mo$5.00
iCloud+ 12 TB12 TB$59.99/mo$5.00

Before you pay, count the free tier: Google gives 15 GB per account, shared across Gmail, Drive and Google Photos. iCloud and OneDrive give 5 GB each.

Google also sells a 2 TB Google One plan in the US. It isn't in Subfaro's catalog, so check today's price on Google One's plans page before comparing it with iCloud+ 2 TB.

Which is the cheapest per gigabyte and per terabyte?

It depends on how much you need:

  • Up to 200 GB: iCloud+ wins. 50 GB costs $0.99 and 200 GB costs $2.99, and both can be shared with family. Google One Basic gives 100 GB for $1.99.
  • 1 to 2 TB: iCloud+ 2 TB at $9.99 is the cheapest pure storage. Microsoft 365 Family on the yearly plan costs about $10.83 a month for 2 TB plus the Office apps for up to six people.
  • More than 2 TB: Google AI Pro's 5 TB is the lowest cost per terabyte in the table. On iCloud+, every terabyte costs $5 from 2 TB all the way to 12 TB.

What it costs per person when you share

All three let a household share one plan, which changes the math a lot. With six people on a single plan:

PlanStorage poolPer person per month
Google One Basic100 GB$0.33
iCloud+ 200 GB200 GB$0.50
iCloud+ 2 TB2 TB$1.67
Microsoft 365 Family (yearly)2 TB + Office apps$1.81
Google AI Pro5 TB$3.33

The storage is one shared pool, while each person's files stay private. If one person fills most of it with video, everyone runs out together, so check the usage breakdown in the service's settings now and then.

What does each one include besides storage?

iCloud+

According to Apple's iCloud page, every iCloud+ plan includes Private Relay, Hide My Email, a custom email domain and HomeKit Secure Video: one camera on 50 GB, five on 200 GB and unlimited from 2 TB up. All iCloud+ plans can be shared with up to five other family members at no extra cost.

Google One

Your storage covers Gmail, Drive and Google Photos together. Basic and Google AI Pro can be shared with up to five others. Google AI Pro adds advanced Gemini features, including Gemini in Gmail and Docs, plus an individual YouTube Premium Lite membership, which we cover in is YouTube Premium worth it.

Microsoft 365 (OneDrive)

Storage comes bundled with the Office apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and every paid plan includes OneDrive ransomware protection, according to Microsoft's plan comparison. Personal is for one person; Family and Premium cover one to six. On Family, the Copilot AI features are for the subscription owner only.

Heads-up: Microsoft 365 Family storage changed

Until recently, each person on Microsoft 365 Family had their own 1 TB, up to 6 TB in total. Microsoft has changed that:

  • new and upgraded subscriptions, since October 8, 2026: Family and Premium include 2 TB shared by the primary subscriber and up to five additional members;
  • existing subscribers move to shared storage at their first renewal on or after May 2, 2027;
  • storage add-ons bought by members count toward the shared pool, which can grow to 10 TB in total;
  • Personal (1 TB) and Basic (100 GB) stay dedicated to the account holder.

Each person's files remain private. But if your household uses more than 2 TB combined, plan ahead before your renewal date. iCloud+ 2 TB, also shareable with five others, costs $9.99, less than Family's $10.83 a month on the yearly plan, if you don't need Office.

Which should you choose: iCloud, Google One or OneDrive?

A quick guide by profile:

  • Your household uses iPhones: iCloud+. The full device backup that iOS makes goes to iCloud (or to a computer), and 200 GB at $2.99 is enough for many families. If you'd also use Apple Music and Apple TV, check whether Apple One is worth it.
  • You use Android and Gmail: Google One. Basic at $1.99 works well if you mainly store email, documents and phone photos, and Google Photos and Drive also work on iPhone.
  • You need Office: Microsoft 365. Personal if it's just you; Family on the yearly plan if several people use the apps.
  • You want lots of space and would use AI: Google AI Pro, with 5 TB, Gemini and YouTube Premium Lite.
  • A mixed iPhone and Android home: Google One or Microsoft 365 work on both. Just remember that iPhone system backups still go to iCloud.

A quick check before you buy: look at how much space you use today and how much it grew last year. Paying for 2 TB to store 150 GB is money wasted.

Have cloud storage prices gone up?

Not on iCloud+ in the US: from Subfaro's price history, 50 GB and 200 GB have cost $0.99 and $2.99 since 2015, and 2 TB has been $9.99 since 2017.

Microsoft is the one that moved. In January 2025, Microsoft 365 Personal went from $69.99 to $99.99 a year and Family from $99.99 to $129.99, the first increase since those plans launched. Dates and sources are on Microsoft 365's price increases page, and current plans are on iCloud+, Google One and Microsoft 365 in Subfaro.
